Last
week, I recorded episode 25 of "Asking for A Sister Friend”! Yay!! What started
as a way to find solutions to the many problems women face in their life's
journey has turned into much more than I could have ever imagined.
When
I think about 2 Corinthians 1:4, it is a powerful verse that resonates deeply
with me: "He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that
same comfort with others in trouble." This scripture speaks to the heart
of why I not only created Pearls Perfected Institute but also the weekly
streaming show "Asking for a Sister Friend."
The
idea behind the show is rooted in the belief that we are all in this together.
None of us are meant to carry our burdens alone. One of the most profound ways
we can offer comfort to others is by sharing our stories. There’s something
incredibly powerful about hearing from someone who has walked a path similar to
yours, who understands your pain, and who can offer a light at the end of the
tunnel. It’s this exchange of experiences, this sharing of personal journeys,
that forms the foundation of "Asking for a Sister Friend."
When
I first launched the show, my goal was to create a platform where women could
come together to discuss the challenges they have encountered and how they
overcame them. I wanted my guests to provide practical advice, emotional
support, and spiritual encouragement to help women navigate the complexities of
life. However, as the episodes progressed, I realized that "Asking for A
Sister Friend" was evolving into something even more profound.
Each
week, I have the privilege of meeting women from all across the nation. These
women come from diverse backgrounds and have faced different kinds of
adversity, yet they all share one common thread: they have found comfort and
strength through their faith and the support of others, and they now seek to
offer that same comfort to women who are still in the midst of their struggles.
What’s
truly inspiring about the women who appear on "Asking for a Sister
Friend" is their commitment to helping others. Many of them have turned
their pain into purpose, creating businesses, initiatives, support groups, and
programs to help other women who are facing similar challenges. They understand
that their journey has equipped them with unique insights and empathy, and they
are eager to use their experiences to uplift others.
The
show has become a powerful sisterhood—a community where women from all walks of
life connect on a deep and meaningful level. Each guest who shares her story
brings a unique perspective and a wealth of wisdom, creating a rich tapestry of
experiences that resonates in the hearts and minds of women. The conversations
have moved beyond simply finding solutions; they’ve become a source of
inspiration, healing, and empowerment for both the guests and the viewers.
Listeners have written in to say how the show has helped them feel
less alone, inspired them to pursue their dreams, given them practical advice
to navigate the challenges they face and helped them to provide professionals
and experts who may be able to provide the solution to their troubles. The
feedback has been overwhelming and heartwarming. A few have left me teary-eyed as
I read about the impact the show has had.
As
we marked the 25th episode, I’m filled with gratitude for how far we’ve come
and excitement for where we’re headed. What began as a simple idea has
blossomed into a movement that is touching lives across the nation. The
feedback from our viewers has been overwhelming, and it’s clear that
"Asking for A Sister Friend" is meeting a deep need in the lives of
women everywhere.
As I
reflect on this milestone, I’m committed to continuing this journey with
renewed passion and purpose. The stories we’ve shared so far are just the
beginning. There are countless more connections
to be made with women who have powerful stories waiting to be told, and I’m
eager to give them the platform they deserve.
The
heart of "Asking for A Sister Friend" will always be about finding
comfort in community and offering that same comfort to others. Together, we are
creating a legacy of support, encouragement, and transformation—one story at a
time. Here’s to continuing this incredible journey together and to the next 25
episodes and beyond!
"Asking
for a Sister Friend" is a testament to the strength of community and the
power of shared stories. It’s a reminder that we are never alone in our
struggles and that there is always someone who has walked a similar path and is
willing to offer support.
