Dr. Bobby L. Love Tried for 8 years...Then This Happened

Jun 11 / Dr. Janice R. Love
It’s Father’s Day Week and let me tell you about Dr. Bobby L. Love – my husband.
He’s been a senior pastor for 35 years. Over those years, he has collected a wealth of insight, leadership lessons, and behind-the-scenes truths that could help a whole generation of pastors, ministers, and men.

And for eight years — yes, eight — he tried to write a legacy book.

He’d start and stop. Write a few paragraphs. Get frustrated. Put it down. He wasn’t lazy. He wasn’t unmotivated. He just kept thinking he had to write like a writer.
What he didn’t realize is: he already had the wisdom. What he needed was a way to get it out.
And guess what?

Now, after eight years of feeling stuck, he’s completed his book, and his paperback is set to be released by late summer!

Let me tell you something I know for a fact:

We say things like: “I don’t know where to start.” “I’m not good with words.” “I’m not a writer.”
But you are something else entirely: You’re a survivor. You’re a witness. You’re a man with a story that only you can tell.

That’s enough. In fact, that’s everything.

That's what Black Men Too is all about.

This 8-week course is for Black men like my Hubby — and like you. Men with something to say. Men who’ve seen some things. Men who want to turn their wisdom, pain, humor, history, and testimony into something their children and grandchildren can hold onto. We’re not aiming for perfection. We’re aiming for legacy.

You’ll learn how to:

- Get started (even if you don’t know how)
- Organize your thoughts and life experiences
- Use story prompts to jog your memory
- Create a finished product you can be proud of — whether it’s for your family, your ministry, your community or the world.

You’ll get coaching, community, and clarity. All you need to bring is your truth. We’ll help you do the rest.

We’re starting soon — don’t let another year go by wondering what could’ve been written.

This is your moment. Let me say this loud and clear:

You do not need to be a writer to write a memoir. You don’t need a degree in English. You don’t need fancy words. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
What you need is this: A desire to say something before it’s too late.

With grace and gratitude,

Dr. Janice R. Love
